Thailand: Sukko Wellness & Spa Resort Phuket

Phuket is known for its nightlife but after weeks of running through the Philippines and Chiang Mai, we were on a mission to find some much-needed rest & relaxation. We owed ourselves a few days of pampering.

We spent 2 nights at the tranquil Sukko Wellness & Spa Resort. The spa has 22 villas. Each villa is private and detached, and nestled amidst lush greens, banana trees, and flowering plants. The grounds are so vast that there is a complementary van to escort guests to their villa.

Infinity Pool

The infinity pool overlooks all the lushness of Phuket. The pools we’ve been to in the past were either set against a city background or surrounded by the hotel rooms and noisy guests. This one was unique because it was separated from all the villas. We were surrounded by trees on all sides. The sounds of chirping birds filled the air. It really felt like a little oasis.

The waters were perfectly warm in early January for a morning dip. We had the entire pool to ourselves all morning and it was a dream.

Rooms

All villas come with a jacuzzi which overlooks the woods and either a private spa treatment room or a living room. The villa features a Thai style teakwood bedroom, a sun-roof rain shower, and a veranda with a day bed.

We opted for the Tropical Villa with Jacuzzi, which comes with a living room, a Thai style teakwood bedroom, king size bed, jacuzzi, and a private patio. The sun-roof rain shower was a really nice touch. I never thought I would enjoy gazing at stars during a bath, but this is definitely going into my dream-home-must-haves list!
???? Pro tip: you can request for the bath to be prepped for you in the morning. The kind staff will help prep the jacuzzi with aroma therapy.

The Spa

Suuko means ‘true happiness’ in Thai. The spa was established in 2003 as the world’s first Thai Cultural Spa. All Suuko treatments are developed by certified Thai traditional practitioners and performed by masterfully trained spa therapists. Suuko uses all-natural spa products from Thai herbs, naturally occurring minerals, and 100% pure essential oils.

Dewa Hall ‘Hall of the Angles’

They have an expansive spa menu and offer Thai Massages, body scrubs, facials, and oil treatments. They have 2 unique spa experiences: Patuma Superior and the Boondharik Private Spa Villa. The Boondharik is exclusive to those who are staying at the resort at one of the villas and is performed in the comfort of the villa. The spa sessions start with aromatic herbal foot bath and a simple breathing meditation. You can then choose the treatment you want. The session ends with a refreshing tropical paradise aromatic aura mist.
