Four Seasons Resort Maui – Best Luxury Resort in Maui Hawaii

four seasons maui infinity Serenity pool

ALOHA FROM MAUI! Maui had been on our bucket-list for the longest time, but having already visited Oahu and Big Island, we never found the right time to plan the trip. Somewhere around Valentines Day, we decided to gift each other an experience that was both exciting and relaxing. We wanted a treat-yo’self kind of trip, one where we’re pampered to no end. We yolo booked our trip to Maui and it was every bit as LUXURIOUS and MAGICAL as we thought it would be. We booked our stay at the Four Seasons Resort Maui, and this was the best decision of our trip!

FS Maui is a luxury 5-star beach resort, located right on Wailea beach. It has it all: beaches, restaurants, pools, and vibes for days. You can refuel and recharge without ever leaving the resort. Their dining options are fresh and eclectic. Their services and amenities are top-notch, something we know and love from the Four Seasons group.

⭐ As always I’m linking my entire trip on my Maui Instagram highlights, Part 1, Part 2.

Four Seasons Resort Maui

Aloha spirit is on free-flow at FS Maui. The moment you arrive at the resort, you begin experiencing Four Season’s first class warmth and hospitality. Guests are welcomed with a traditional lei greeting. You have a choice between an orchid-adorned garland or one made from kukui nuts. We chose both!

The first thing we noticed is how VAST the resort is! A quick peep at the map showed three pools, four restaurants, a beach, spa, and many gardens. We knew we were in for a treat.

Want to know where to find the PRETTIEST Lei Po’o (flower crown) in Maui? @petit.maui makes the most jaw-dropping flower crowns. They’re filled with so many fresh flowers, and they last for days!

Pools

FS Maui has THREE pools! Having a pool on property, especially in a tropical place, is a must. Each of the three pools have their own unique features for different styles of relaxation. They all have cabanas lining the perimeter. You can also order a full-service poolside lunch, poolside spa treatments, and more. Read on to learn more about each pool.

Most of the cabanas and lounge chairs are complimentary. You can reserve them an hour in advance before you occupy them. We found this very helpful for days we wanted to go the beach but also wanted a cabana to come back to. Sunscreen and aloe gel are provided complimentary.

Serenity Pool

The Serenity pool is our #1 favorite pool. It’s an infinity pool, overlooking Wailea beach. It’s also the only adults-only pool on property, with a swim up bar, and luxury cabanas (read about our Missoni Cabana experience below). We loved the breathtaking panoramic views of Lanai and the West Maui Mountains from the edge of the infinity pool. We had a lunch here (pictured below) and enjoyed swimming up to the bar throughout the day for our Mai Tai cocktails.

Come to this pool if you want to relax. Because of its secluded location on the property and luxury amenities, the Serenity pool is the perfect spot to enjoy some well deserved R&R.

Serenity pool is open from sunrise to sunset, so definitely come here at those times if you want to see the sky glow up.

Missoni Cabana

The Serenity Pool offers TWO private luxury cabanas for rent that are an upgrade from the other four private cabanas. These are the Missoni Cabanas. A reservation here means you get a whole slew of amenities, all while soaking in the best pool view in the house. It doesn’t get better than this! We reserved one of the Missoni Cabanas for an entire day, and let me tell you how incredible the experience is. The cabana is blinged out in Missoni fabrics (a luxury Italian label known for their bold prints), and comes with top-shelf champagne, a large screen TV, fruit platter, meals for two, and dessert.

The cabana comes with a bottle of champagne, but if you’re a cocktail aficionado like I am, you can substitute this for FOUR cocktails of your choice.

Fountain Pool

The saltwater Fountain Pool is open 24 hours a day. This pool has a magnificent fountain in the center. It’s lined with numerous complimentary cabanas and coconut trees, perfect for a lazy afternoon in paradise.

Waterfall Pool

Like the name implies, the Waterfall Pool has a GIANT waterfall at one end. It’s great for children and adults alike. This pool also has complimentary ocean-facing cabanas.

Four Seasons Wailea Beach

Wailea is among the most beautiful beaches on Maui island. FS Maui is right along Wailea Beach. Imagine waking up every day and strolling over to these warm blue waters within seconds! Having 24/7 access to this beach was definitely a highlight of our stay.

Order breakfast from DUO (a restaurant on the Four Seasons Resort Maui property) and have an amazing picnic right on the beach. You can request for complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas from the FS staff.

Experiences

Outrigger Canoe

FS Maui offers numerous complimentary Hawaiian cultural activities to connect guests to the rich history of the land. These include hula dancing lessons, outrigger canoe, palm frond weaving, lei making, cultural garden tour, guided art collection tour, and more. The outrigger canoe was our favorite of them all.

The canoe experience starts at Wailea beach. The private experience begins with a brief tutorial on how to row the canoe. Then you set off into the waters! The team makes it extra special by explaining the history of the canoes, sharing stories of the islands, pointing out different landmarks, and helping us catch glimpses of the beautiful sea life underneath. Be on the lookout for green turtles, reef fish, manta rays, and humpback whales!

They provide waterproof bags to bring onto the canoe, so don’t be afraid to bring your camera for some great photos.

Spa and Wellness

FS Maui boasts a world class spa. If you’re here, you HAVE to do their oceanside spa experience, it is the pinnacle of relaxation. Imagine getting pampered right by the ocean, drifting away to the melody of the gentle ocean waves and chirping birds. I reserved a Lomi Mohala Massage. Mohala means “heart opening”. It’s a signature Hawaiian massage that uses ti leaves and forearm strokes. It was absolute bliss!

Boutique Shopping

There are numerous boutique shops on the property offering luxury fashion brands to add to your collection. If you’re looking to add a few extra curated island pieces to your fashion collection, these boutiques have a little bit of everything. I found a beautiful pair of white Zimmermann shorts I couldn’t pass up!

Restaurants

There are four major restaurants on property. We had the incredible opportunity to dine at all of them, and I’m here to tell you, YOU NEED TO DO THIS TOO! The meals we had here were the BEST we had during our entire stay in Maui. Every dish was executed to perfection. Here’s a breakdown of each restaurant:

Spago

Spago is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant featuring fusion Hawaiian-Californian cuisine. Spago strikes the perfect balance between fancy-white-table and relaxed-aloha. The menu is both boujie and approachable. $180 Wagyu is paired with fries. $135 caviar is paired with beignets. We loved this contrast because this truly exemplifies our experience at the Four Seasons Resort Maui! Don’t skip dessert, the soufflé was light as a feather yet somehow still decadent.

Specific tables cannot be reserved so come early if you want the best seats in the house.

DUO Breakfast

DUO is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During the day, they offer takeout and a breakfast buffet. The buffet is a great way to try a little bit of everything on their menu. For a set price, you can load up on fruits, pastries, ube pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelettes, açai bowls, eggs benny, and more. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on the lounge chairs because we didn’t want to pass up overdosing on the ocean views! On another day, we ordered their takeout menu and took it to the beach.

I want all my açai bowls to be served in a papaya from this day forth.

DUO Steak & Seafood

DUO’s dinner is land meets sea, in the most luxurious way. It’s everything you dream about from a fine steakhouse. Lobsters, tiger prawns, and crab cakes meet foie gras (pictured below), dry-aged ribeye, and wagyu New York strip. DUO also offers a Wellness Dinner featuring vegan and gluten-free fare. Their Heart of Palm “ceviche” is pretty as a picture.

Lobby Lounge

The Lobby Lounge restaurant is the most relaxed restaurant concept on the resort. We had the BEST COCKTAILS of our trip here. Located within the lobby, this lounge offers bites, sushi, and an impressive craft cocktail program. There’s a hula performance between 5:30pm – 6:30pm, torch lighting at sunset, and live music all night.

The hula show starts at 5:30 pm. Arrive before 5:15 to get a good seat!

Ferraro’s Bar E Ristorante

Ferraro’s serves contemporary Italian dishes with a fresh Maui twist. This is Wailea’s only oceanfront restaurant! They have al fresco dining facing the ocean, so go early to secure a seat at the terrace for some sunset magic to pair with your meal. We ordered poke, pizza, pastas, catch of the day, a few cocktails, and all their desserts. The Tiramisu Moderno (pictured below) and Chocolate Budino are a must!

Poolside Wellness Lunch

FS Maui offers a wide array of pool-side offerings so you never have to leave the pool or cabana! The menu features fresh items like fresh-catch tacos, ahi poke, and buddha bowl. They also have an extensive cocktail list to keep your pool-side party going!

Four Seasons Resort Maui Rooms

We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean-View Room with a king bed. The deluxe rooms offer the most desirable ocean views on the property! We loved waking up at dawn every morning to see the sunrise colors dance across the sky from our balcony.

There are numerous room types based on your needs, from presidential suites to mountain-side rooms. You can see all their room types here.

NICE TOUCHES: An in-built radio system in the room plays music all day. We had it dialed to Hawaiian music our entire stay, and we loved how this enhanced our experience! There is also daily room service and wind down service.

IN-ROOM DINING: read on below to see our in-room dining experience

In-Room Dining

We tend to wake up early most mornings, but some days, we’re extra lazy. TBH, no vacation is complete without lazy mornings and sleeping in! We took full advantage of the in-room dining on these days. We called the concierge and ordered a little bit of everything: fruits, eggs, waffles, coffee, and pastries. Their banana bread is a must, it’s deliciously moist. You can also enjoy the meal on your patio!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Four Seasons Resort Maui. Every detail from the team and resort made our vacation feel like the ultimate luxurious vacation. We wanted a treat-yo’self kind of a trip, one where you’re pampered to no end. THIS WAS IT! We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts!

We absolutely love our stays at Four Seasons around the world. Read about our experience at FS Embarcadero.
